Sa Prathama sanskritirvishvavara’ is India’s own education system which has been in tradition since time immemorial. The gurukuliya system is different from Macaulay education system. It’s the oldest education system in the world. It’s the systematic, known and great education system. This country was known as world teacher due to saints and rishi having been educated through this education system. Maharshi Manu’s declaration proves this fact.

Etad desh prasutasya 
sakashadagrajanmanah I
Svam svam charitram shiksheran 
prithinyam sarvamanavah II

It means that ved is the source of education system of character of all the human being bowing down to the feet of scholars belonging to India. Description of that education system has been mentioned in literature of Upanishad and religious scriptures. The teacher-student affection is the fundamental element of this education system. A mantra of Yajurved mentions about the entrance at gurukul—

Aadhanta pitaro garbham kumaram pushkarasrajam I yatheh purusho arat II

It means that oh guru! Assimilate this pushkar maladhari kumar in your bomb. Keep it under your sheer guidance at gurukuliya residence. This mantra gives two indications that the parents do handover their child to the teachers for residing at gurukul, hoping that he will become a true human being. The teachers instil refinement in the children so that they can become great persons. They are filled with higher ideals and virtues. This is the ancient, aesthetic and scientific system of human building. There is no alternative to it. This is the real and improved education system in the country. Ideal characteristic virtues of our offspring are on the wane since we left it due to external attack. The country gets weakened. Because the country whose citizens are healthy, mighty, and of good values must be great. Similarly the country, whose citizens are weak, unhealthy and of low morality, must be undeveloped. Highlighting character in gurukuliya education system, the students are taught under sheer guidance of teachers. This process is called keeping the disciple in the bomb.
It has been mentioned in the Atharvaved-

Aacharya upanayamano brahmacharinim krinute garbhamantah I Tam ratrististra udare bibharti tam jatam drashtumabhisamyantidevah II

It means that the word acharya is used here. The meaning of acharya is like that—

‘Aachinoti cha shastrarthan aacharam grahyatyapi I Aachare sthapayechchaiva tasmadacharya uchyate’ II

It means that those who teaches good values and scriptures to the students and instil refinement in them are acharya. Intention of study with good values is reflected here. The students are imparted education with good values at gurukuliya education system. It’s possible under sheer guidance of teachers. It’s an intrinsic part of gurukuliya education system. Therefore, we say that this is the best system of human building. It has no alternative.
The parents play important role in creation of offspring—it has been written in Shatpath Brahman—Matriman, pitraman, acharyavan, purushoved it means that those children whose mother is religious and father is knowledgeable and of good values must become true and scientific person. Mother has been deemed as the first teacher who instils good refinement in the child since childhood. Seeing the good character of father, children become refined. Acharya has the great role to play because he imparts education to the students from age group of 6-7 years to young stage. It has been termed as second birth of human being. It has been said in Manusmriti—

Ka manmata pita chainam yadutpadayato mithah I
Sambhutim tasya tam vidyad yad yonavabhijayate II
Acharyastvasya yam jati vidhivat vedaparagah I
Utpadayati savitraya sa satya sajaramara II

It means that wishing for offspring, the parents give birth to the child. It’s his common birth. But acharya who has expertise in ved builds the child under his sheer guidance is called true birth. With savitri discourse after entry in gurukul, this process begins. Therefore, savitri and acharya are considered as mother and father respectively in this second birth. He emerges as true human being in the society. Even deities are eager to see such scholar with good values—tam jatam drashtum abhisanyanti devah I It is the divine birth of human being. It can be possible only through gurukul tradition. We can make our country jagadguru by adopting this process.
In the present era, Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati focused on true religion of ved again in India and revived ancient gurukuliya system. First of all, he set up Kanya Gurukul for imparting education to the girls. Maharshi Dayanand’s disciple Swami Shradhanand presented this tradition again by setting up gurukul on the bank of Ganga in Hardwar. It gave divine result. Unfortunately, successors of Shradhanand failed to conserve main form of gurukul and Gurukul Kangri turned into school and modern university slowly. Taking inspiration from Shradhanand, his bhakt Phulsingh Jee too set up institution in Haryana. Many gurukuls were set up in India. In the disappointing phase of gurukul, some acharya tried hard to enliven true tradition of gurukul tradition. Pandit Brahmdutt Jigyasu, Swami Brahmanand Dandi, Swami Omanand Saraswati, Acharya Pragyadevi Jee, Acharya Baldev Jee Maharaj and Acharya Pradyuman Jee Maharaj are prominent ones. Tapahput Yogiraj Sanyasi Swami Ramdev Jee Maharaj and Ayurved Shiromani Shradheya Acharya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj gave a new lease of life to this tradition. Divine education is imparted to the students under sheer guidance of Param Shradheya Acharya Pradyuman Jee Maharaj and Tapahput Mahatma Sanyasi Acharya Baldev Jee Maharaj. They spread message of yog in the entire world and Acharya Shri set up ayurved again at universal level. Swami Jee Maharaj and Acharyashri have done tremendous job to re-establish gurukul tradition present it as an ideal before society. The God has given enormous strength to Param Pujya Swami Jee Maharaj so that he has been able to complete almost impossible work. Universal tradition and renovation of education by ancient gurukul system is one of these works. It’s being conducted in the name of ‘Patanjali Gurukulam’ where separate gurukul are being run for boys and girls. Divine and pure atmosphere of gurukul is making beautiful tradition of ancient saints and rishi lively. At present, Vedic Kanya Gurukulam, Acharyakulam and Patanjali Gurkulam are run for the girls at Hardwar. Similarly, a beautiful Patanjali Gurukulam situated in the middle of mountains on the bank of Alaknanda River at Devaprayag is being run. Apart from Sanskrit Grammar, modern subjects are also being taught here. Teachers having good values and dutiful workers contribute in successful functioning of gurukulam under sheer guidance of Param Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj.

Safety

Campus for girls is highly safe and arranged. The girls study there in serene and peaceful atmosphere. They are instilled good refinement and aesthetic thoughts in peaceful atmosphere.
The girls are fully safe from ideological pollution and unnecessary contacts due to use of mobile phones in the current schools. The girls are not allowed to keep mobile phones with them. In case of need, the guardians can talk to their ward through teachers. In outer atmosphere, the girls apply cosmetics since childhood. It proves as an obstacle in their life. They even don’t imagine of these cosmetics here at gurukulam. Therefore, the girls study with simple lifestyle and higher thought.  They succeed in getting rid of bad habits in their life.

Great lifestyle

Generally, lifestyle of boys and girls in villages are irregular. They rise late in the morning, eat untimely, etc. It is detrimental in student life. But here at gurukulam, the lifestyle of girls is systematic. They rise at 4.30 am in the morning and chant ved mantra prataranim patarindram….It seems that atmosphere of satayug gets enliven with ved chanting. In the morning, they brush their teeth, drink water, do yog, prnayam, exercise and meditation daily so that body and mind can be healthy and fresh. After taking bath in the morning and light breakfast in the evening, they start studying. They enjoy lunch in the day. Later, they take rest for some time. They start study, homework, etc. They also play sports and do various exercise. After taking dinner and walking, they go to bed at 9 pm. They are on the path progress. They concentrate more on the study by staying away from the house.

Best aesthetic meal

Girls are provided with pure aesthetic and balanced meal. Highly sharp, hot, salted and oily diets are strictly prohibited. Fresh green vegetables, fruits and mil are available abundantly. They are useful for their physical and mental development. Healthy body is the abode of healthy mind. Pure and good thoughts develop intellect of girls so that they can contribute in their family, society and the nation.

Practical teaching of Sanskrit language

Although, girls are imparted with modern subjects apart from ancient scriptures, practical teaching of Sanskrit language is given special attention. Ancient Vangmaya has been written in Sanskrit language. Without knowing Sanskrit language, we fail to understand Indian culture, religion, philosophy, yog, ayurved, spiritualism and

History. Without it, India’s soul can’t be understood. Therefore, knowledge of Sanskrit is essential to assimilate Indian tradition. Therefore, special focus is being given on teaching Sanskrit to girls. Therefore, apart from ancient education, modern subjects are also being taught. Sanskrit language is the language of refinement. It provides good values and spiritualism. Sanskrit language is the key to ancient, Indian knowledge, science, etc. given its importance, it’s mandatory for girls to have expertise in Sanskrit language.  

Yog training

The boys and the girls are made committed to it since childhood. Therefore, it’s mandatory for girls to adopt indigenous in the lifestyle, diets, attire, etc. Therefore, they move on the principle of simple life and higher thought so that they can be competent enough to face any unprecedented situation in their life.
