This means that a medicine which was made for the treatment of a particular disease is not effective for that disease. That medicine can also have more side effects. Overall, it is not safe to consume medicines which fail the quality test. Therefore, we cannot be carefree even after consuming the medicine.<br />India's largest drug regulatory body CDSCO has released a list of 48 medicines. These medicines have failed the random sample quality testing conducted in the month of August. A total of 53 medicines failed in this testing, while among these, there are 5 medicines which the companies have refused to accept as their own. These were fake medicines, which were being sold in the market in the name of some pharma companies.<br />The worrying thing is that the medicines that failed the test are being manufactured by the country's renowned pharma companies like Hetero Drugs, Alkem Laboratories, Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL), Karnataka Antibiotics and Pharmaceuticals Limited.</h5>
