Harar has been classified as seven types. Seven classes on the very basis of form—1. Vijaya,  2.  Rohini,  3.  Putana,  4. Amrita,  5. Abhaya,  6. Jivanti, 7. Chetaki have been determined. At present, there are three types of harar. The people consider it as the fruit of the same tree. Haritki is available easily and is full of medicinal value.
Use as per the diseases
Shiro disease
 Shirahshul—Make dust of guthali of harar with water and apply it on the vein to get rid of pain of adhasisi.
Take equal proportion of mango seed dust and small haritki and make dust with water and apply the mixture on the head to get rid of dandruff.
Eye disease
   Eye disorder- Keep harar in the water entire night. Wash the eyes with filtered water to get soothing. It removes eye disorder.
Keep harar in the water. Do anjan to get rid of cataract.
Do anjan with harar chhal to get rid of eye disorder.
Boil haritki with ghee and apply it to the corner of eye. It will be helpful in eye disorders.
 Consume 3 gm haritki dust and 3 gm raisin kalk with honey or sugar daily before lunch to get rid of cataract.
Nasal disease
 Pratishyay - Consume bitter shirovirechan, suksha cereal, yava and haritki to get rid of it.
Throat disease
 Galvidradhi—Use 20-40 ml haritki quath with 3-12 ml honey to check this disease.
Mouth Disease
    Dental disease— Brush the teeth with haritki dust to boost it.
    Mouth disease— Boil 10 gm harar with half liter of water. If it remains one fourth, mix small quantity of alum and do gargle to check bleeding from mouth and throat.
Chest disease
    Kanishkasnrth— Harar dust plays important role in removing cough. Consume 2-5 gm harar daily to get rid of it.
  Kas-respiration— Make 10-30 ml quath of harar, adusa leaves, raisin, small cardamom and mix it with honey and sugar and consume the mixture thrice to get rid of cough, blood bile diseases, etc.
Abdominal Disease
   Digestive power—Mix equal proportion of 3-6 gm haritki with candy and use it after taking meal to boosts digestion.
    Vomiting—Consume 2-4 gm harar dust with honey to get rid of vomiting.
    Diaspeptic—Consume 2 gm harar and 1 gm ginger or 250 mg black salt to get rid dyspeptic.
    Consume 2-5 gm dust of harar, ginger and black salt with cold water. Take small quantity of lunch and dinner in case of indigestion.
    Diarrhea—The patients suffering from this disease must take 2-5 gm dust of harar and pipali with warm water.
    Baddhakoshthta – Consume tablets made of harar, sanaya and gulab to get rid of constipation.
    Boil harar and 3.5 gm cinnamon or olive with 100 ml of water till 10 minutes in the morning to clean the abdomen.
Skin Disease
    Shalipad disease—Boil 10 gm harar with 50 ml of arand oil and consume it for 6 days to get relief in this disuse.
    Bound—Wash the bound with haritki kadha to heal it.
    Mix 1-2 gm harar dust with 5-10 gm cream and apply it to the bound.
    Leprosy—Consume 20-50 ml cow urine with 3-6 gm harar dust daily in the morning to lessen this disease.
    Take equal proportion of harar, jaggery, til, chili, ginger and pital and make it dust. Consume 2-4 gm mixture twice daily to check leprosy.
Mental Disease
    Murchha-  Consume ghee with harar quath to get rid of it.
Sarvasharira Disease
    Blood bile—The patients suffering from it are advised to take 2-5 gm harar with 1 spoon of honey and small quantity of sugar.
    Visham fever—Consume 3-6 haritki dust with honey to check malaria.
    Mix 3-6 haritki dust with 1 ml til oil, 1 gm ghee and 2 gm honey and consume it to check dah, sarva fever, cough, blood bile, visharp, breathing and chardi, etc.
    Consume 25 ml raisin quath with 3 gm haritki dust twice daily to lessen it.
    Consume 3-6 gm haritki to get rid of rheumatism, cough and fever.
    Take equal proportion of 3-6 gm haritki with draksha twice daily to get rid of blood bile, itching, pittajagulma, chronic fever, etc.
    Consume cow urine with haritki dust to get rid of cough.
  Atisveda – Make dust of haritki and apply it to the entire body to get rid of excessive secretion of sweating.
    Take 2-4 gm haritki dust with honey to check this disease.
 Fever—Take equal proportion of harar, hing, papal, ginger and make it dust. Consume 500 mg with juice of vijaura lemon to get rid of sannipat fever.
    Mix 10-20 ml of triphala quath with 10 ml of cow urine and consume it to check rheumatoid cough disorders.
Child disease
    Fever – Make quath of nagarmotha, harar, neem chhal, patolpatra and mulethi and boil it with 10-15 ml water. The children suffering from fever are advised to take it.
Consumption Process
Consume haritki with salt to get rid of cough. Consume it with shakkar to get rid of bile. Consume it with jaggery to ghee rid of rheumatism disorders and consume it with jaggery to get rid of all the diseases. The people should consume haritki in rainy season, winter season, autumn season, winter season, spring season and summer season with salt, shakkar, ginger, pippali, honey and jaggery respectively. 

Ayurvedic merits and effect

Haritki checks rheumatism and cough due to bitterness, soft in taste. Therefore, it’s tridoshahar. It’s dry and warm. It boosts appetite, intellect and proves beneficial for eyes. It checks ageing and provides strength to the body. It checks cough disease. It removes breath disorder, kas, prameh, constipation, leprosy, swelling, abdominal disease, worm disease, speech disorder, grahani, gul, adhyaman, colour, tiredness, hichki, throat and heart diseases, kamala, shul, anah, pleha and liver disease, stone, renal diseases, etc. Harar fruits prove beneficial for the patients suffering from leprosy, acidic disorder, colour disorder, agnidipan, bitterness, eye diseases, etc. Haritki is used to check many diseases. Marrow, veins, vrint, chhal and guthali of haritki contain soft juice, acidic juice, bitter juice, bitter juice and bitter juice respectively.

Special merit and function

  • The people should consume harar by chewing to boost energy. Using harar dust and boiled harar are beneficial in checking diarrhea. Include harar in your diets to boost intellect and sense organs. Using harar after taking meal removes all the disorders.
     
  • Its water residue gives inoxidative merit.
     
  • Its residue presents radio protective and other activities.
     
  • Its residue gives inoxidative and muktamulak apmarjak activities.

Haritki consumption avoidable for following people

  • The tired and weak people who have excessive bile and pregnant women must avoid haritki.
     
  • The people suffering from indigestion must avoid it. The people having excessive sex should also avoid it. The people suffering from hunger, heat, etc must not consume it.
     
  • The people suffering from thirsty, mouth shoth, hanustambh, galgrah, navajvar and weakness must avoid haritki.
