Analysis on Increasing Population of India

Manu Gaud

It took 1.5 lakh years for the population to reach at 100 crore. Amazingly, the same population increased to 800 crore in merely 214 years. With the same pace, the population will cross the mark of 1000 crore in 2050.
The scientists are of view that the existence human civilization is around 1.30  lakh to 1.60 lakh years. It took 1.50 lakh years to reach world population to 100 crore. In 1804, the world population for the first time crossed the mark of 100 crore. After 123 years in 1927, the world population turned to 200 crore.
Despite, the human being failed to understand that in which direction they are moving towards. After 33 years in 1960, the world population became 300 crore. Since then, various world organizations came into existence. The people started to ponder over that it’s rising population which can demolish the human civilization. In 1952, India started family planning scheme. In that time, India’s population was around 36 crore. But the efforts went in vain.
On July 11, 1987, with the birth of a child, the world population touched the mark of 500 crore. The United Nations formed the United Nations Population Fund—UNFPA which aims at working population in the world. As July 11, 1987, the world population reached to 500 crore, therefore, since 1989, July 11 is being observed as the World Population Day. Despite, the pace of increasing population is not going to slow down. In 1960, the world population turned 300 crore. After 39 years in 1999, it increased to 600 crore. After 19 years, the population is going to touch the mark of 800 crore.
It took 1.5 lakh years for the population to reach at 100 crore. Amazingly, the same population increased to 800 crore in merely 214 years. With the same pace, the population will cross the mark of 1000 crore in 2050.  If we agree with famous scientist late Prof Stephen Howking, then the human being needs to search for their accommodation at other planets. India plays important role in increasing population.
The country which for the first time implemented family planning scheme is going to become the largest populated country in the world. World’s 18 percent population lives on 2.4 percent area of the world in India which has only 4 percent water at global level. Our population increased by 100 crore since Independence. Since then, amazingly the population of India increased by three times. In 1947, the water availability was 5,177 cubic liter which decreased to 1,545 cubic liter today. The country where rivers were overflowed with milk is facing water crunch.
In order to feed the rising population, the schemes like green revolution, operation food were started in India, increasing chemical fertilizers by 80 times. However, the cereal production increased by 5 times, while it brought many diseases. In a country, where world’s first two universities were established, ranks far behind below 250 in terms of university’s list. The money of taxpayers was to be pumped in the prosperity in the country but it is being used in installing toilets and giving gas connection. Around 38 years ago, per capita income and economy of India and China are almost same. But China invested the money in research, technology, defence, employment generation, etc. today, we are nowhere in terms of Chinese economy. According to the first BPL survey conducted in 1961, around 19 crore people are living below poverty line in India. It increased to 36 crore in 2011.
According to UN, over 50 crore people are living below poverty line. In next 35 years, India’s population will increase to around 200 crore. When the world will be searching for other planets, we will be constructing toilets and houses.
The time has come when the schools are shut due to rising pollution. According to Niti Aayog, there would be no water in top 20 towns in the country. We continue to destroy forests and the wild animals start to come to populated area and we continue to kill them. We have killed nil cows in Bihar, wild pigs and other animals. The human beings have butchered the trees in the name of development. Who will kill them?
Around Rs 2.25 lakh crore of taxpayers have been spent on family planning schemes since 1974. If we compute this money in terms of today’s value, it will amount to around Rs 20 lakh crore. Taxpayers’ money has been misused massively. What we have found by spending such huge money? A lot of people are ready to debate it.
With the girl child taking birth in 2000, population mark touched to 100 crore in India. Now, that girl became adult. According to government data, every year, country’s population grows by 1.5 crore. In the last 18 years, country’s population increased by 36 crore. We say that fertility rate has come down in the country which  needs to understand the government fact.
According to the website of AADHAR, around 121, 70, 94, 786 AADHAR cards have been prepared in the country so far. Around 11 percent AADHAR cards remain to be made. By June 30, 2018,  6,19,29,514  AADHAR cards for children in the age group of 0-5 years have been prepared, 28,58,98,862 AADHAR cards for children in the age group of 5-18 years have been made. According to authority, 14,34,55,413 AADHAR cards for 0-18 years of children are yet to be made. According to it, 84,43,26,760  AADHAR cards for the people above the age of 18 years are yet to be made.
If we deduct AADHAR cards of the people in the age group of 0-18 years from the total AADHAR cards, then we will find that 86,92,66,410  AADHAR cards for the people over 18 years of age have been made. According to authority, total of 84,43,26,760  AADHAR cards for the people above the age of 18 years are yet to be made. But 86,92,66,410  AADHAR cards have already been made. It means that around 11 percent AADHAR cards are yet to be prepared. Clearly, the government data gives vague picture. According to a Chinese data, now India has the largest population in the world. The AADHAR website also validates it. India is on the verge of population explosion. The government gives deaf ear to it.
The country needs to ponder over new avenues to control population.  Otherwise, India will become the capital of poor and labourers in the world. Now the common people will have to think that what do they want to make their children? Poor-labourers or something else. It’s beyond imagine that which will be said great?  India history or next future….!!!!!
