Qualities of a teacher and Disciple

On every corner of life we get a chance to learn something and we are often taught various types of lessons by the nature families the society our business activities and sometimes we get a chance to learn from us and we also pass through the process of teaching others in life. While learning our role is is off a student it and at the same time when somebody is learning from US then our role becomes that of a teacher and every individual whether he is rich or poor educated or uneducated old or young male or female at some point of time he is at some place a student or disciple or at some other place at some other time he is a teacher as well. This process of teaching and learning begins even before birth when we are in the uterus of our mothers and it continues till the moment our last rites are performed add this method of education is different from the education system of Europe and whenever it is discussed it is the system of education which has been described in Vedas and upanishads and other scriptures of India where we find the mention of Sanskar without which our education cannot be complete.
Education with Sanskar
The way a our body cannot work without soul in the same manner education cannot be complete without Sanskar which is very important aspect of our life and its absence education has no value because Sanskar means making someone your which is a synonym of Sanskrit that are in this situation whenever somebody is given education he becomes a great man or a great human being. And in fact this is the real purpose of imparting education to an individual because it has been said in our scriptures that there are certain rules to be followed by a human being in life and they are basically called Sanskar and this process continues from the time of birth till the end of life and in the script is like Vedas and Smriti scriptures and Puranas there are many types of Sanskar mentioned but according to experts there are mainly 16 of them which are to be followed which includes Garbhadhan Sanskar, Punswan Sanskar, Simantonayan Sanskar, Jatakarma Sanskar, Namkaran Sanskar, Nishkraman Sanskar, Annaprashan Sanskar, Mundan Sanskar, Karnavedhan Sanskar, Vidyarambhya Sanskar, Upnayan Sanskar, Vedarmbhya Sanskar, Keshant Sanskar, Samvartan Sanskar, Vivah Sanskar and Antyeshti Sanskar. Actually Sanskar is a word of Sanskrit language which makes our mind, speech, action and body auspicious and sacred. And when Sanskar gets associated with education then not only students but the teacher as well get their spiritual upliftment and tragedy is that we are getting passed away from Sanskar and we have left them can find in our scriptures or even if Sanskar is taught it happens only in some selected schools only which results into Avadi gravitation because on one hand we have garbhadhan Sanskar which is the first Sanskar and most important and it has now become a topic for studies in Medical Science on the other hand vidyarambh Sanskar has been Kaun size to the Government education boards therefore we are witnessing a situation of crisis in which neither our teachers are ideal for the students because the existence of Ideal institutes in society has got vanished.
Importance and qualities of Institutes
However the responsibilities for imparting education lies with schools and colleges and Universities but only they are not responsible for this because others also have certain rules because the above-mentioned institutes provide the knowledge of mathematics and Science and Arts and Commerce and many others subjects but the process of learning and teaching keeps going on at every corner of life which beams at home and in the family and in the society which means at every place it keeps going on.
This means the way it is not necessary that it the teachers and disciples will always be found in the schools and colleges and Universities but they can be found around us as well similarly it is also not necessary that only schools and colleges and Universities will provide education but in fact the process of teaching and learning keeps going on at the level of families and the society and perhaps it is more important than other institutes in this process. Educational Institutes have the provision for education of certain subjects according to curriculum and syllabus due to which their role is confined only to grading and marks and giving degrees which can be useful in in getting job opportunities but on the contrary in the families and Society and other practical institutes the knowledge that we get or whatever we provide to others in terms of Knowledge this knowledge remains with the learner for rest of his or her life and here we would like to make it clear that getting education for livelihood is not wrong but it is also a fact that we also get away from our Sanskar in this process and in this situation education and Educational Institutes on front with major questions on their role for example a student get education and becomes a doctor and engineer and a teacher and can also become a business person but the question arises that was the purpose of his life confined to achievement like this or was there some other purpose of education as well.
The role of Institutes like family is most important
In our Vedic scriptures the role of mother II II has got the Paramount importance and mother has been described as the first Guru while the father has been described as the second Guru which means the first responsibility for upliftment of a child has been assigned with the parents which makes it clear that education full of Sanskar is the most important thing ad in the institutes like schools and colleges their role comes after the role of parents and in the situation today we are witnessing a situation when we are praying that the students who are getting education in the institutes outside the family the students like good Sanskar and even after having got good education a great success we are getting to know that they lack Sanskar. Which is evident in the form of lack of proper discipline in today's students. Have you ever thought about it that why even after very high education and successfully cracking the top government posts like Indian Administrative Services why our officials get indulged in to corrupt practices because the reason is quite evident that their education was not according to Sanskar and this is the reason why I our country is faced with many challenges and corruption the most important one and its solution is only one because we have to teach our students at our children as well as we also have to give them good Sanskar. Dev Dev children of the age group of 2.5 years to 3 years children are being sent to school and the parents think that there is possibilities are complete while they forget that schools will only teach the knowledge of letters and digits but the practical knowledge will come to the children only in the family therefore it is necessary to provide good Sanskar to the children of all the families and we will have to be e e conscious about our role in the family as the parents of the children and even if the parents are uneducated they are capable of giving good Sanskar and that kind of Sanskar cannot be provided to our children at any other place them in the family.
Education of parents is also very necessary
In the present education system the moment our children get a little bit of sense after growing up a little bit it has been observed that parents and their children to play schools the parents also have a mentality that English medium schools are are better institutes for imparting knowledge then the schools where education is imparted in vernacular and English medium schools take lots of an advantage of this mentality of the parents who are eager and ready to spend as much money as they could to get their children in English medium schools and for this the parents take lots of pain but nobody care what is reality of our children are getting in the English medium schools. To say Play Schools nursery schools and other English medium schools make sure learn with fun but the reality is quite different which is not a hidden secret for anybody because the children educated in these schools learn to say Good morning and good evening in place of pranam namaste like words and he also starts calling his mother II as mum and his father as dad in place of Mataji and pitaji and he starts calling all his female relatives who are equivalent to the position of his mother like bua mausi mami chachi e as aunty and all those who are in relation equivalent to the position of his father like Fufa master mama chacha as uncle and listening these words parents become very happy thinking that their son is becoming smarter and they become grateful to the culture of the Play Schools but they do not care of the fact that by doing so the child is forgetting the original relation and all his relation has got confined between uncle and aunt and he is hardly aware of his relations with the members of his extended family. Therefore it is unfortunate that we force this kind of uncultured education on our children and become a therefore it is most needed to educate the parents rather them teaching the children.
The meaning of education is profound
It is quite clear that the meaning of education is very profound which means it is not confined to just schools and books but in true sense it is a continuous social process in which there has been an enormous possibilities of experiments because all the members of the society contribute in growth and development of the children which is also a part of major education and the parents and school teachers they also contribute in their own way and their main purpose has been to to give knowledge to their children and also giving Sanskar therefore if we look in comprehensive manner then education is an inseparable part of life and Ud knowledge and Sanskar are also a part of it because the first mention of the word Shiksha is found in Rig Veda and Rig Veda is the first book of the world in which it has been expected to remove the darkness from both outside and inside and those who get education have been described as Brahmachari in Rig Veda and in modern time we call them students or disciples and it has also been said that education is not just confined to the learning the matters in books but it also means to know or to rule and this has been described as education because it has a very comprehensive and profound meaning ad it also carries with it the tradition of of knowledge and Sanskar and whenever there is a matter of of tradition for discussion then it must start at home therefore it is wrong for you to think that by getting your children in the schools of your choice will ensure good education for your children then you are wrong and you are being illusioned.
Qualities of teachers
It sounds wonderful that schools are the temples where a child with its to learn Sanskar and discipline and moral education and dis Institute of Education student learn the knowledge from books as well as they also learn how to become responsible citizen of the country but is it something that happens in reality because it is my experience according to which at present it the purpose of education at schools has been to to provide good marks to the children in the schools after which for higher education he becomes ready to get admission in some prestigious Educational Institutes where the process of education is changed even more. Because in earlier time a student used to get 60% marks which is the first division marks then it was a matter of pride for the whole Colony and family but today even after getting 90% off marks neither teacher nor the parents 9 the student it is satisfied because they have tremendous pressure of getting more and more marks and this change in the system of marking has completely changed the game of education and Ud the teachers of government Run schools do not worry about their salary is because it is fixed but in private schools teachers performance must reflect in the marksheet of the students and in such kind of educational and examination related system we cannot expect Sanskar and if we expect this will only be disappointed because for the last few years the central government has been selecting the teachers true Central Teacher Eligibility Test which and shows the qualities of the teachers but at the same time it is also a factor that becoming successful in the examination for job has become the only purpose of of the selected teachers therefore from this fact nothing more is required to be said here and in this situation with the qualities of teachers comes under questioning then the qualities of education of the schools and the qualities of the disciples also automatically come under questioning.
Every one has a role to play
Education and disciples and teachers and Educational Institutes might come under questioning but all the raising questions on them will not suffice because in the process of imparting education every one has a role to play. If we talk about a teacher and disciple then it must start with Ashoka of shatpath Brahman scripture according to which student will be come full of knowledge in true sense only when he is taught by his teacher his mother and his father and this sloka indicates at the fact that the process of education and Sanskar begin from home because it has been said very well that we will ripe the harvest the kind of seeds we are sowing in the ground. This is also relevant in case of of education and upbringing of our children because starting from the time of of a child coming to the uterus of his mother there are so many processes and stages like infant stage kids States adolescence and young age and during all these phases we must be careful about the kind of upbringing we are supposed to provide our children because Aacharya Chanakya has well said in this regard that a child must be treated with lots of love and affection between the age group 0-25 years and by the time he turns 10 vivastreet strictly and by the time he becomes 16 years old we should treat him like a friend. When a child is is in a very delicate age group we should give him full love and full affection and it should treat with care because this is the stage when the child is not able to understand anything he does not have his sense is developed therefore he must be allowed to make mistakes and with this right kind of seed is is being used joint family if the child is not able to get complete love and affection of his parents then the rest of love and affection is provided to him by the grandparents of the family. 220 children were taught Sanskar bi right means at a very early age this process begin but now the size of the families have got confined a lot but and parents also do not have enough time to share with their children and even if the parents spend time with their children most of the time is spent to complete the homework but no moral education is imparted to the children because most of the time is spent in unnecessary activities now the question arises that if the children do not get education with Sanskar at home then all the the next generations I will not be able to transfer right kind of Sanskar to their next generations due to which our education system will get completely destroyed but if right kind of square is given to the children then en8 possibilities will be built therefore education and Sanskar both are equally important to be imparted to the children for a successful life because this is the only wonder of success in life.
