Respected Acharya Balakrishna Ji Maharaj Honored with D. Litt.

17 June, Haridwar : The tenth convocation ceremony of Uttarakhand Sanskrit University was organized in the auditorium of the university, in which the Chancellor of the university and His Excellency the Governor of Uttarakhand, Lt. General (Retd) Gurmeet Singh ji participated. On this occasion, he gave away medals to the meritorious students and research degrees to the research scholars of the university. In the convocation, the Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University, Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj was awarded honorary degree of D.Litt by the Governor for the protection of Ayurveda and Indian knowledge tradition and educationist Padma Shri Dr. Poonam Suri for social service and promotion of Vedic education. In the convocation speech on this occasion, His Excellency the Governor said that the Uttarakhand Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya situated on the banks of Maa Ganga is doing commendable work for Sanskrit and culture. The new generation is being trained by combining the knowledge of Sanskrit with modern knowledge. The Governor called upon the youth to be a part of the great campaign to make India prosperous and the best nation in the world while preserving their traditions. He said that the solution to all the challenges lies in the knowledge available in Sanskrit language. Sanskrit language is the DNA of Indianness and along with preservation of the ancient, use of new knowledge is also necessary.

On this occasion, Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj thanked all the dignitaries and said that the basis of Sanskrit culture is the existence of all of us. To save its existence, to keep the flow of Sanatan flowing, preservation of Sanskrit is necessary. The protection of Sanskrit will reach the whole world through the Sanskrit University and the students studying in it. Uttarakhand Sanskrit University is doing very commendable and noble work in this field. I have come here today to participate in this work. This is not just my honor but it is the honor of millions of brothers and sisters who are working for nation building and cultural upliftment by joining Patanjali's campaign. We are moving forward in the work of nation building through Patanjali.
In the program, Professor Srinivas Barkhedi of Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi said that Sanskrit universities should develop as remarkable centers of Indian knowledge system. Along with this, Sanskrit should be taken to the people using modern techniques.
On this occasion, Vice Chancellor of Gurukul Kangri University Professor Somdev Shatanshu, Vice Chancellor of Ayurved University Professor Sunil Joshi, Vice Chancellor of Uttarakhand Open University Professor Om Prakash Negi, Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Ajay Singh, Chief Development Officer Mr. Prateek Jain, Additional District Magistrate (Administration) Mr. Pl Shah, SDM Mr. Puran Singh Rana, SP City Mr. Swatantra Kumar Singh, Mr. S.S.
