There are so many story is associated with the festival of Dussehra as Indian culture has always been a worshipper of of bravery and magnificence and to promote these features we the people of India celebrate dussehra and if ever war becomes inevitable then we should not be waiting for invasion from our Enemies but we must take initiatives to oppose and destroy those forces which can cause danger for us.
Some Scholars believe that since the time of Lord Ram this day has been a symbol of of the March of victory and it is a fact that on this day Lord Ram had begin his journey to defeat Ravana and on this auspicious occasion he had successfully invaded Lanka and within few days successfully destroyed and his reign of atrocities and freed crores of people from the atrocities of the demon king.
Maryada Purushottam bhagwan Shri Ram is an ideal of the Aryan culture and Ud it has been set in Valmiki Ramayan about him-

On the other hand there has been a very strong believe that in the month of Ashwin Shukla paksha 10th day De killed Ravan and this way he destroyed the demon powers and strengthened the power of Virtuous forces and divine forces and this way truth and justice defeated the evil forces.
The Goddess of India who is is the symbol of power and who destroys the Rebel forces called mother Durga and among men Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram who is very calm and composed and both of them are the symbol of greatest power.
The atrocious Kings Ravan and Mahishasur were destroyed who were symbols of Evil forces at this way the flag of of Virtuous forces was wasted and to celebrate these events devotees worship mother Durga and Lord Shri Ramchandra.
Some people believe that this war is a symbol of a journey because by the occasion of Dussehra season of rain ends the rising water of of rivers start receding and the crops of paddy starts to become ripe.
The festival of Dussehra is celebrated as with me and this festival is the occasion to symbolise power and convergence of power and by offering prayers to mother Jagdamba for 9 continuous days the world becomes powerful and becomes capable of of getting success in the world and from this point of view Dussehra is the festival of victory.

This festival is called vijayadashmi because mother Bhagwati had got victory on this day and Lord Rama completed his 14 years of exile and killed the demon King Ravana after which he left for Ayodhya.
Pandavas on exile after losing the game of gamble with Kaurav spent 12 years in the forest and one year in exam when they were not to be recognised by anyone and if if they would have got recognised according to to the condition they had to you again live in exam for the next 13 years therefore in the last 13 year Arjuna hid his weapons on a Shami tree and disguised his identity as Vrinhla and got a job in the court of king Virat and when the son of king Virat took Arjuna in the battle to protect cows from Kaurav on that occasion Arjuna took his weapons from the Shami tree and registered victory over his enemies.
The hero of crores of Hindu heart Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had fought successful against the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb and protected the religion of hindutva ad in the history of India there have been in many such occasions when Hindu Warriors left for the battlefield on this day.
