Goswami Tulsidas described the blessings of Saint - Mahatma and said he pays respect to Sant who have equality for all in their heart and they are friends of none and they have enmity with none and Goswami Tulsidas further said that the hands which have plucked flowers and the hands which have kept the flowers both hands become fragment in the same manner Sant Purush have equal feeling for both Enemies and friends. 

Further Goswami Tulsidas says while coating Bhagwat Darshan

Nahin daridra Sam Dukh jagnahi l
Sant Milan Sama Sukh Jag Nahin ll

Deprivation is the biggest pain in the world and Association with us and it is the biggest pleasure of the world because in our Indian culture this tradition is very unique and special and mentally and intellectually and physically and economic Khali the system is very organised in which we have the tradition of Sant and Rishi Muni and brave men and women and the moment we hear the name of Sant we have our heart filled with lots of dedication therefore oscom and have a discussion over the various characteristics of Sant Mahatma so that we could know about the divine character of them and could learn from them.

Adi Shankaracharya described the word Sanatan and said-

Akhilvitraga Apastamoh Shivatatvanishthah l

Those who do not have materialistic Desire and those who are always conscious and those who can easily differentiate between what is truth and what is false and those who have strong dedication for The Almighty and those who always dedicate themselves for the Welfare of others they are Sages and describing the characteristics of Sant Kabir Das Ji said -

Nirbairi Nihkamana Soi Seti Neh l
 Vishya Su Nyara Rahe Santan ke ang Aeh ll

Those who do not have any Animal and those who are free from Desire and those who have love for God and those who do not have materialistic pleasure they are sages.

Sant Kavi Dulhan Das also said-

Dulan Sadhu Sab Ek Hain Bagh Phool Samtool l
Koi Kudarati Subas Hai Aur Dhool Dhool Ke Kan ll

He said that like in the garden all flowers look equal as displayed fragrance equally in the same way a sage spreads Peace love and fraternity.

Similarly in Ramcharitmanas Aranya Kand in Shri Ram samvad referring to the questions of Narad Muni Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram said-

Santa ke Lakshan Raghuvira, 
Kahahu Nath Bhav Bhanjan Bhira l
Sunu Muni Santan ke Gun Kahahun, 
Jin Tey Main unke Vas rahun ll

As Narad Muni wanted to know from Lord Ram asking the question O Lord you can destroy all that any of the world just described me the characteristics of Sant Mahatma on which lord Ram said that they have such characters which always fascinates me and makes me dedicated towards them and he further described as follows.

Shat Vikarjit Anadya Akama Achal Akinchan Suchi Sukhdhama l
Amit Bodh Anih mitbhogi Satyasar Kabi Kovid Jagi ll

Sant Mahatma has got control over 6th characteristic weakness is like Kama and growth and job and more and mother and mother and after having victory over these 6 they become free from sin and free from Desire and they are always ready to sacrifice everything that they have and they become separated from both inside and outside which gives them greatest bliss because they don't have any Desire this is the characteristics of them. 
And beware that those who have patience and are free from Arrogance they have knowledge and they are skillful.

Their heart is big and very soft those who have love and kindness for needy people and those who are last free in terms of their mind and teach and action and they Pay respect to everyone and never become arrogant dear Bharat my dear they are very close to my heart.

Dwij pad Priti ghar mein Janm Yatri ll

They do not have any kind of  Desire and they deserve my blessings because they are peaceful and last fairy and dedicated and happy and they are very cool and simple and friendly to all I have lots of affection for such people who have respect for brahmins and those who follow the path of Dharma.

Yah sab Lakshan bus hi jasu ur, 

Jaane Ho Kat santpur Dam Dam Niyam I 
Priti Nahin do Lagi Purush Vachan ko, bahu Nahin bol rahi II

Oh lord those who have all these qualities and those who follow the path of truth they are real Saint in our knowledge and those who have equal feeling for all and those who have restrained and follow the right rules and never speak Hard words from mouth.
