Lokamangal to Atmamangal

Lokamangal to Atmamangal

In the previous issue, we have discussed lokamangal elaborately. Now, we come to atmamangal which means that ultimate peace, relief from sadness, excessive love. Lokmangal happens through capacity which can be of various types like- writer, speaker, vaidya, farmer, teacher, industrialist, shopkeeper, policemen, clerk, military, political leader etc. Atmamangal happens through service, sacrifice, knowledge and love.
The people must understand that capacity and knowledge are different from each other. Capacity is a power and knowledge is a type of light. It's worth mentioning that the knowledge is not that which are known. Knowledge is that through which something can be known. It's possible that somebody has the capacity of reciting religious scriptures but he lacks knowledge. It's also possible that the people are knowledgeable without any religious awareness. Those who have both the qualities are known as 'shrotriya brahmnishth' for example--Acharya Shankar, Swami Dayanand etc. Maharshi Raman is an enlightened person, but he no religious  knowledge. Many university professors themselves accept that they lack knowledge.
Knowledge wipes out our ignorance. We start considering ourselves whatever we get from others. Knowledge says that whatever gives a sense of separation, can't be our own. Knowledge also says that whatever is called mine, is not mine. It means that god's blessings wipes out intention of our own. Knowledge removes our ego.
Knowledge helps us get rid of ignorance. It removes longing for objects and attachment. It provides purity and serenity to us. It make us totally alone. We have noting to lose. Therefore, we have no fear in my life. Then we get rid of sex, wrath and attachment. Similarly, knowledge makes us a disciplined person. We must pay respect for those who have shown path to us. If you pay disrespect to the knowledge, there will be no place for atmamangal in your life.
An important point regarding atmanangal is that we experience that knowledge through which we can know everything. The knowledge wipes out all the acceptances. Shruti says that-- tadeva brahma tvam viddhi nedam yadidamupasate I Tadev hints at the lighter. Therefore, tadev means all the acceptances of pure light come under 'idam'. Although, there are two forms of acceptance- sadhan form and asadhan form. For example--How handsome I am? I am prosperous. I am writer. I am donor. I am saviour. In contrary, I am fool. I am ignorant. All these are asadhan form acceptance. But somebody says that he is celibate, yogi, sanyasi and tapas. All these are sadhan form acceptance. Initially, sadhan form acceptance can wipe out asadhan form acceptance. Later, sadhan form acceptance is also wiped out through 'aham brahamasmi' also becomes stable. There is only pure prakashak knowledge which had provided light to the 'aham brahamasmi'.
Upnishad Darshan aims at making people aware of this very fact. For example-In Brihada. Shruti (3.8.11), replying Gargi's question, Yagyavalkya answered that 'tadva etadaksharam gargyadrishtam drashtrashrutam shrotramatam mantravigyan vigyatu, nanyadatoasti drashtri nanyadatoasti mantri nanyadatoasti vigyatretasminnu khalvakshare  gargyakasha otashcha protashvati I
It means oh Gargi ! That akshar tatva is adrishta. Nobody saw him. But it is drashta due to drishti form. It was not heard. It is audience due to shruti form. It's not a matter of akshar manan due to avishay. It's manta due to mati form. That's why, it's not vigyat. It itself is vigyata due to science form.
Moreover, no drashta is creator of darshan kriya. That akshar is the creator of sarvatra darshan. Similary, there is no different audience. There is no different manta. That akshar is recital. There is no different vigyata. That akshar is the creator of science activity.
Oh Gargi ! Certainly, the entire sky envelops that akshar which is ultimate goal. It's the soul. That akshar is truth.
Kenopnishad Shruti also says that it remains the vigyata. It never comes under the category of vigyeya due to not being the subject of mind, intellect. Sense organ with low IQ is known as micro-sthul material. There is only one way to know it that it can be pacified. Then there is remaining one--anyadev tad viditadatho aviditadadhi I (1.3) means that whatever sthul--micro material gets formed as the subject of our knowledge, is different from all. It remains as a vishayai.
Defining bhuma in Chhandogyopanishat Shruti, it has been indicated that-
Yatra nanyatpashyati nanyachchhrinoti nanyadvijanati sa bhumath
yatranyatpashyatyanyachchhrinotyanyadvijanati
tadalpam yo vai bhuma
tadamritmath yadalpam tanmartyam (7.24.1)
It mean that the way there is watcher, listener and ultimate which is different from scene in public behaviour, then it sees, listens and knows through other drishtavya shrotavya or gyatavya subject through sense organ. Nobody listens, watches and knows in bhumatatva where is only the ultimate god. We can say that-- shivam shantam advaitam prapagnchopashamam (Mandukya--8) there is only peace after sarvprapanch.
