Events like 'World Book Fair' are useful for the public: Acharya Balkrishna

New Delhi, 08 February | In the World Book Fair organized at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi under the aegis of National Book Trust, India (under the Ministry of Education, Government of India), Acharya Balkrishna, General Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth, said as the keynote speaker that events like 'World Book Fair' are for the benefit of the people in which world-class knowledge-based literature is available. He said that Patanjali has given prestige to Yoga-Ayurveda at the global level.
Regarding Yoga, Acharya ji said that it is a matter of pride that Yoga has been accepted all over the world today. If people speaking different languages in the whole world know the meaning of a word equally, then it is Yoga. Even if they do not know the broad and deep meaning of Yoga, they at least know that it is about some breathing exercises, physical exercises, some asanas, pranayama.
Regarding Ayurveda, he said that the work that should have been done at the global level to establish Ayurveda as Ayurveda, in fact did not happen. He said that Ayurveda is a complete science in itself. Ayurveda is independent and it does not compete with anyone. He said that in daily life, allopathy is in the form of synthetic medicine. Ayurveda is a part of our life while allopathy is a compulsion. If Ayurveda is seen in a broad perspective as medicine or herbs, then more work needs to be done for it. He said that Ayurveda teaches us that we should try to live in accordance with nature by using substances in accordance with nature.
Acharya ji told that Patanjali has published a great book in the form of World Herbal Encyclopedia, which has illustrated description of 32 thousand medicinal plants. Earlier, information about only 12 thousand medicinal plants was available. Apart from this, we have published an Ayurveda based book Saumitreyanidanam, through which we have done a challenging task by presenting illustrated form, symptoms and diagnosis of new diseases, new disorders, new ailments emerging in the world in accordance with Navayugachar. In this, about 500 diseases including 471 main diseases have been described with illustrations in 6821 verses, dividing it into 14 sections on the basis of body structure. Also, through this book, for the first time in the tradition of Ayurveda, more than 2500 clinical conditions have been described.
Regarding the indigenous products of Patanjali, he said that Patanjali products are manufactured with the view that our family is consuming them. That is why our products meet all the parameters of quality and purity. For us, the country is not a business, but a family. He appealed to all the manufacturing companies that whatever products they make, they should make them keeping their family in mind.
