In England of 18th century they did not have any proper method for treatment of diseases and the methods for treatment of diseases using herbs were declared as Pagen by their Christian Missionaries and they were termed as Idol worshippers and Christianity declared its soul target to destroy them under protection of Christian Missionary Church and Christian governments. And then started bloody Wars between the two from 12 century to 16 century and finally the Christian Missionaries destroyed them completely and forced them to leave the place and this description is available in the books of England which is their history.
In the 17th century when some small employees of East India Company came to India they purchased tobacco and Spices from India and sold these things in the European markets and they wanted to create a place for themselves for which initially they tried to persuade Indian princely states and nawaabs through flattery which enabled them to get permission to settle down here and continue their trade activities after which they started their deceitful business activities and the European traders also started selling hand written description about India and Indian practices and such writings were sold to rich people in England but the rich people of England who were most interested in the process of surgery which was in practice in India and it was carried out in Indian villages by barbers and in this paper which were handwritten there was also descriptions of how the Lost body parts of soldiers are joined again to their body according to the process of of Indian methods for treatment of diseases and then the rich people of England decided to send their own people to India so that they could collect detailed information about such things in India and their translation in English was collected and in the 19th century the first surgical college was opened in England.
Teaching Physics started at Oxford University in 1856 and in 1874 British women were taught how to to serve and take care of patients in hospitals for which medicine school was opened but present medical education started in England in 1936 which means just 85 years ago from now and in 18th century an institute was established to collect information about foreign medicines and in the first half of 19th century many different schools on this subject were opened but formally medical education begin there in the 20th century.
At the same time in 20 century some medical students of England decided to open their branches in India as well and in 1928 some talented people of Bengal associated with Brahma society aur Brahman Samaj work consulted and discussion started over starting allopathic medicine education in India and prior to this where the influence of England was prominent in India the Englishman tried to consult to those sections of Hindu society who were dissatisfied and it was tried that with their help Western medical education could be started in India and it is a fact that brahmo Samaj was a group of people who were dissatisfied within Hindu society and they were influenced by the teachings of Christianity and those days in many Hindu families vah feeling uncomfortable within Hindu society and work raising questions on their own orthodox traditions which is the reason why the people who were dissatisfied they were incited by the British East India company E and Raja Rammohan Roy was one of the employees of of this company who had established brahmo Samaj in India and very soon talented youth of brahmo Samaj got patronage of the East India Company and by taking inspiration from Christian clergy they decided to move ahead in this direction. They tried to spread that the science and knowledge of England is greatest in the world at the also started to laugh at and mark at Indian system of education Indian system of treatment of diseases and Indian traditions.
In this situation most talented and well mannered youth associated with Brahmo Samaj were also fascinated to go to England and get English education therefore a trend started to criticize Ayurved and calling calling it undeveloped method for treatment of diseases and it was also started to promote allopathy as the modern method for treatment of diseases and in these circumstances in 1928 some youth like Bidhan Chandra Roy and neelratna Sarkar who were associated with brahmo Samaj in Association with some British doctors founded Indian Medical Association to promote allopathy in India and in 1930 Indian Medical Association got registered in Kolkata han han han under society registration act at the mission of this Institute was 1.) to open branches of Indian Medical Association across the country, 2) promote allopathy among the people of India and 3.) also to ensure The Prestige and reputation of allopathic practitioner among masses. This third target was set with a view that since Ayurvedic practitioner had great reputation in Bengali society on the other hand the allopathic practitioners were treated as someone who are corrupt and the activities were seen as against Indian culture and Society therefore Indian Medical Association Wanted the prestige of allopathic practitioner to be established in Bengali society.
The people who had this Institute initially one of them was Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy who was a very talented student and his father was excise inspector in British government and Bidhan Chandra Roy was very intelligent and in 1905 when Lord Curzon divided Bengal it was opposed by Bengali Revolutionary leaders like Shri Arvind and Bipin Chandra Pal but Bidhan Chandra Roy continued with his studies of medicine and further he went to inland for higher studies of medicine and after returning from the year he worked as a doctor and when he turned 43 he started taking interest in public life and and later he won Bengal assembly election by defeating Senior Congress leader Surendra Nath Banerjee and when he came in contact with Motilal Nehru then he become personal doctor of Mahatma Gandhi and for his services to Gandhiji he was appointed first chief minister of Bengal after independence and at the same time it is Ironic to say that Mahatma Gandhi himself was against allopathic methods for treatment of diseases but he chose his own allopathic Doctor to get appointed as Bengal chief minister even though he did not have enough political experience. Bidhan Chandra Roy head great reputation in Bengal which proved to be of great political benefit for the Congress Party but since beginning as he was associated with Indian Medical Association therefore this Institute also benefited from its member and fast Bengal chief minister Bidhan Chandra Roy and later on with his support the headquarters of Indian Medical Association was shifted to Delhi in 1949 for which this Institute got a plot of land near Indraprastha Marg. And today on this plot of land there lies a six storey building.
It is due to Dr Bidhan Chandra Roy that the Congress Party since beginning the members of Indian Medical Association onboard while making national health policies and also included the members of Indian Medical Association in the governments health committees which is the reason why the members of Indian Medical Association are are included Indian Nursing Council , ISI board, national board of examination etc. Besides this the representatives of Indian Medical Association are associated with the Advisory Council of Health and Family Welfare ministry.
However one of its member Mr Ketan Desai was found to be involved in serious corruption activities even them due to high links of Indian Medical Association this Institute continues to function as earlier and its sole purpose has been to destroy India's traditional method for treatment of diseases and promote European and American lifestyle and methods for treatment of diseases.
The members of this Institute openly take part in politics and in Kerala where most of its members are associated with the communist politics and on the other hand in West Bengal its former President Dr Shantanu Sen was member of Trinamool Congress and he is also a Rajya Sabha member of this political party and the time when he was chairman of Indian Medical Association he had openly opposed those days the national medical Commission bill and had also threatened too close OPD across the country.
This Institute now a days is seen fighting with the BJP government at the centre and the BJP government has refused this Institute of opposing the central government because the BJP government has been promoting other forms of treatment of diseases apart from Allopathy which is is not being acceptable for Indian Medical Association. The research Scholars of Ajeem Premji University in 2019 conducted a nationwide survey and concluded that Indian Medical Association has been very unpopular in India and according to the people this institute has no longer any relevance now.
There are around 3.5 lakh allopathic doctors in the country of which 78000 are active members of Indian Medical Association which clearly shows that only one fourth of all allopathic doctors are are members of this Institute on the other hand three fourth allopathic doctors consider this Institute as non relevant.
There started a trend of writing on small pieces of papers with hand about the prosperity and richness of Indian civilization and tradition and such papers were sold to the rich of England and European countries and for these rich people the most interesting subject was the methods of surgery practised in India. |
There are a total of 9000 lifetime members of this Institute who Tu to play a decisive role in in the central Council of this Institute and they have a prominent role in deciding the policies of this Institute. At the time of its Foundation there were only 222 members associated with this Institute. And at the time of registration there were just 30 to 35 active members associated with this Institute. Under the protection of the British government from 1930 to 1947 this institute has been found to be involve in destroying India's traditional methods for treatment of diseases and has been promoting only allopathy in the country. Search activities of this Institute who were directly and attack on the culture and traditions of majority population and it is also fact that this Institute uses posco act to suppress its opponents and promote its supporters and in the name of helping people at the time of calamities this Institute promotes Christian ideologies and Christian Lifestyle. In India it is the duty of the democratic and elected government to preserve and promote the traditional methods of the majority people for retirement of diseases because this is often opposed by Indian Medical Association and when Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan participated at a function of Patanjali Yogpeeth and Divya Pharmacy this Institute showed insolence to oppose him.
This way the methods for treatment of diseases of the majority population and their lifestyle is being disturbed forcefully by this Christian Institute which is is bound to anger people and disturbing public peace due to which it is most likely that there will be disturbance in the society. In a democratic society no Institute should be allowed to indulge itself in such activities. It is a fact that Indian Medical Association was found at to destroy Indian traditional methods for treatment of diseases and promote European Christian lifestyle and their methods for treatment of diseases but after the Independence today India is a democratic society in which there must be incorporated some reforms and amendments to prevent the disturbances being created by it and the system must shows respect for the traditions and lifestyle of the majority population.
