Yoga is the science of fitness of the body, courage of mind and beauty of soul. Yoga is the name of the ultimate health of body, mind and consciousness.
What is yoga?
Yoga is the science of life transformation. Yoga is an experiment to reveal the truth. Yoga is the art of living in the present by abandoning the fantasies of the future and the memories of the past. Yoga paves the way to live in the present i.e. Kalyug, by crossing the pain and suffering of the past (past) and the fear and dreams of the future (future). Yoga is a scientific technique to free the mind and reach a thoughtless, dreamless mind. Yoga is happiness and it is the philosophy of living a happy life.
Yoga is not a sect but a science
Yoga is not a religion. Like mathematics, physics and chemistry, yoga is a pure science of establishing a person in his nature, character or religion. The present day physics was discovered in the West, similarly India has invented the science of yoga. Just as science is based on experiments, similarly yoga is based on wisdom gained through experiments. Jain, Hindu, Muslim, Christian etc. religions are based on faith, material science is based on external experiments and yoga is based on internal experiments. Yoga is a Hindu lifestyle that has been prevalent since time immemorial. Shiva, Dattatreya, Yagyavalkya, Janak, Shukdev, Patanjali, Gorakhnath, Matsyendranath etc. have been great yoga scientists and inventors of yoga. Among them, Maharishi Patanjali threaded yoga into sutras like mathematics and science. Patanjali's yoga sutras have accurate results like the molecular mathematical sutras of Einstein, Max Planck, C.V. Raman, Bose and Bohr. Just as two and two make four and water is sure to boil at 100 degrees and turn into steam and ice when it boils below zero, similarly, by practicing Patanjali Jali Yoga Sutras, falsehood is destroyed and a disturbed mind is dissolved. Truth is revealed and the soul is realized. Like science, yoga is also not based on faith and trust. Yoga is an existential experiment. With the help of scientific sutras of yoga, a yoga practitioner experiences the truth by descending into experience and understanding.
Union of religion and science means the development of life
By removing religion from science, life and existence trembles with the dance of destruction. By removing science from religion, life fills with the stench of negligence, blind faith, laziness and irrationality. Human life becomes animalistic. By combining and harmonizing science and religion, human life touches the sky of development.
The word Yoga has originated from the Sanskrit word 'Yuj', which means to unite, combine, join and meet. Yoga is the union of the soul with the divine. Yoga is the merger of the entire energy of the body, mind and conscious soul with the divine. Yoga is to remain stable in equanimity while remaining neutral in success and failure. In this way, many definitions of yoga have been given. Body, mind, intellect and ego are transformed into human beings by practicing yoga.
The goal of yoga is to bring balance in the body and live a healthy, beautiful, happy, peaceful life rich in joy. According to the great sage and yoga scientist Patanjali, yoga is yogashchitavrtti nirodh, that is, awakening and restraint towards the instincts of the mind. By awakening and seeing the mind instincts with consciousness, they are automatically destroyed. In the Bhagavad Gita, 'yogaḥ karmasu kaushalaṁ' (skill in action) is called yoga. According to the Kathopanishad, when the consciousness is motionless, the mind is calm and the intellect is unmoved (steady), this firm restraint is called yoga. 'Manah prashamanopayah yogah ityabhidhiyate' Yoga In Bashishta, yoga is a science of relieving or awakening the mind. Waking up in one's own form, that is, being self-contained and healthy, is the use of Patanjali's 'tada drashtu swaroope avasthanam'
Patanjali Yoga - Science of Awakening Consciousness, the great mathematical formula
Yoga is a scientific experiment of awakening the inner consciousness. Ancient sages and Rishi scientists invented this great science of inner existence, Yoga, by being self-oriented in the laboratory of their soul for years in the silent, isolated forest. Rishi Patanjali, the scientist of the inner world, laid the scientific foundation of Yoga science by formulating it. Yoga is a great science like chemistry, mathematics and physics. Yoga is a powerful scientific experiment of attaining the supreme existence by awakening the inner consciousness. Patanjali has divided the various experiments of Yoga into eight parts (ashtangs) like scientific formulas-
1. Yama: Non-violence, truth, non-stealing, celibacy and non-collection-universal moral duty.
2. Niyam: To purify the mind, cleanliness, contentment, penance, self-study, devotion to God-self-discipline i.e., by following the Yama and Niyam in thought, word and deed, we get the result of the use of Yama and Niyam. This corrects and regulates the physical and mental disorders and the mind.
3. Asana - By combining the body parts in various forms in a rhythmic manner, the practitioner of Asanas purifies and strengthens various body systems, making the body beautiful, shapely and healthy. With the success of Asanas, the attachment towards the body breaks and the practitioner conquers the body and moves towards selfrealization. The above three practices Yama, Niyama and Asana are the external means of Yoga. Through these, the body is made capable of achieving the ultimate health and revelation of the divine consciousness beyond the body. The flower of ultimate beauty can bloom. The fragrance can spread. The flowers of ultimate health and beauty do not bloom in a sick and weak body.
4. Pranayama: Prana+Ayama means expansion of breath ie taking deep breaths and holding them for a long time. Giving rhythmic extension to inhalation and exhalation and controlling breath in an even, deep, long and rhythmic manner through Purak, Kumbhak and Rechak is Pranayam. Breath is the bridge between the soul and the body. One end of the string of breath is connected to the body and the other end is connected to the soul consciousness. Therefore, with the expansion and use of Pranayam, the journey of the soul beyond the body and its realization is possible. The place of Prana (breath) is the lungs and the place of the soul consciousness, which is a part of God, is the heart. Ishwarah Sarvabhutanam Hridya Deshe Arjun Tishthati. Gita-18/6 Sa Ya Aeshontarhridya Akashah Tashmipayam Purusho Manomayah l Amrito Hiranyamayah ll
5. Pratyahara : Prati+ahara i.e. auspicious thoughts or mantras Om, So'ham, Hari Om Shivoham should be connected to inhalation and exhalation and food should be taken with each breath repeatedly. For example, the same God is going inside with the breath or Shiva is going inside with the breath, ego is coming out with the exhalation. I, ego, ego is getting absorbed in God and becoming Godly. By doing Pratyahara of these mantras through continuous inhalation and exhalation, the state of Ajapa Japa i.e. Pratyahara of these eternal sounds starts from every pore. By this, the mind gets free by dissolving desires. All the tensions of body and mind disappear. By Pranayam and Pratyahara, rhythmic and dynamic control and operation of breath takes place. By controlling breath, there is control over mind. Freedom is obtained from mind, then the Sadhak Yogi, Muni starts the journey not of mind but beyond mind.
6. Dharana: The use of concentration and awakening of the mind towards any monotheistic or devoted void or full shape or formless God. Sensory pleasure and the perception of the impermanence of the material world is perception.
7. Meditation: The deepest state of concentration, a glimpse of the bliss of awakening. The mortal body is melting and dying every moment, that is why the body is called Pudgal. Amrito Hiranyamay: The realization and realization of the ever new conscious life is meditation.
8. Samadhi: Samyak Dhi, Samyak Bodh, Samyak Gyan means the emergence of right balance and equality in life, i.e. the solution of all problems is Samadhi. The state of non-duality free from conflict, the complete awakening of consciousness is Samadhi. In Samadhi, all the lines of seeker, means and purpose, seer, sight and sight, knower, knowledge and the known end, there is harmony in them, there is harmony in them. The yogi becomes healthy and natural. Life becomes vocal with the immortal music of Samadhi. There is a total sublimation of divine, chitmay, consciousness, the attainment of immortality, the triveni of infinite knowledge, infinite love and unique sacrifice starts flowing, life becomes a holy pilgrimage, in the state of peaceful and sacred Samadhi, there is the manifestation of the complete expression of self, ultimate health and ultimate beauty.
Breath is the bridge between the soul and the body. One end of the breathlike string is connected to the body and the other end is connected to the soul consciousness. Therefore, with the expansion and use of pranayam, the journey of the soul beyond the body and its realization is possible. |
