Fatigue, mild fever and loss of appetite are also common symptoms of arthritis. Another important sign of this disease is that it affects both knees or other joints of the body equally. If this disease is ignored, it can cause permanent damage to the joints and even lead to disability.
Arthritis, medically known as rheumatoid arthritis, is an autoimmune disease that primarily affects the joints, especially the knees. This disease occurs when the body's immune system starts attacking its own tissues, causing inflammation and pain in the joints. About 1% of people worldwide suffer from this disease. If this disease is not treated on time, it can permanently damage the joints and severely affect the person's mobility. This disease develops slowly and is sometimes difficult to recognize in the early stages.
Arthritis is not only a physical problem but also a mental disease
Arthritis is not only a physical problem, but it also affects a person mentally and emotionally. A person's daily activities are disrupted due to persistent pain and stiffness of the joints, which has a negative impact on the quality of life. People suffering from arthritis also face mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. This disease also affects their social life, because due to pain and lack of mobility they are not able to participate in normal activities.
Causes of arthritis
There are many reasons behind arthritis. The first reason is genetics. If someone in the family has arthritis, then its chances increase. This disease is usually seen more in people aged 40 to 60 years. Women are more likely to have arthritis than men. People who smoke have a manifold increased chance of developing this disease. Apart from this, obesity puts additional pressure on the joints, which can increase the risk of arthritis.
Apart from this, it has been seen many times that some viral or bacterial infections also cause this disease. Not only this, some research has also found that unbalanced bacteria in the intestines also affects arthritis. Modern lifestyle, which includes lack of physical activity and unhealthy diet, further increases the risk of arthritis. Constant stress is also a factor increasing this disease.
Do not ignore these symptoms
Over time, this disease becomes severe and sometimes its symptoms are not clear. Some of the major symptoms include pain and swelling in the joints. Stiffness is felt in the body in the morning, which lasts for 30 minutes or more. Fatigue, mild fever and loss of appetite are also included in the common symptoms of arthritis. Another important sign of this disease is that it affects both knees or other joints of the body equally. If this disease is ignored, it can cause permanent damage to the joints and even lead to disability.
The pain in this disease is not limited to the joints only, but it can also spread to other parts of the body such as wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip and ankle. In some cases, a person affected by arthritis also gets problems like skin rash, inflammation in the eyes and inflammation in the lungs. Long-term effects of arthritis can include heart disease, lung problems, skin disorders and eye irritation. The disease progresses slowly and limits a person's functionality over time.
Ayurvedic treatment is without side effects
Allopathic medicines are used in modern medicine for the treatment of arthritis, but these medicines also have side effects. In Ayurveda, natural herbs and minerals are used for the treatment of arthritis, which provide long-term relief without any side effects.
Patanjali's research
Patanjali conducted a scientific study on the anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritis properties of the Ayurvedic medicine Divya Amavatari Ras. It is a herbo-mineral medicine, which is mentioned in Ayurvedic texts such as Rasendra Chintamani, Bhaishajya Ratnavali and Ayurvedic Formulary of India 2003. It contains harad, behada, amla, chitrak, guggul, castor, babool along with mercury and sulfur processed through Ayurvedic method.
Successful experiment on rats
In the clinical studies conducted earlier, this medicine was found effective in reducing the symptoms and inflammation of arthritis. In a recent study, its efficacy was tested in a rat model and a mouse model.
In a rat model, the drug played a significant role in reducing inflammation during carrageenan-induced arthritis. Its anti-inflammatory potential was evaluated based on the reduction in foot swelling.
The effect on collagen antibody and bacterial endotoxin-induced arthritis was also studied in a mouse model. In this, the drug improved arthritis scores, thickness of feet and knees, and pain sensitivity.
During the study, the rats were given the human equivalent dose of the drug in proportion to their weight. This resulted in reduction of inflammation, improvement in joint thickness and decline in pain sensitivity. Apart from this, the drug also reduced liver damage caused by arthritis.
Divya Amavatari Ras also showed a reduction in the levels of cytokine IL-6, which indicates inflammation in arthritis. This effect was found to be equivalent to the allopathic drug methotrexate (which is the standard drug in the treatment of arthritis).
Arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system starts attacking healthy cells. In the study, Divya Amavatari Ras also showed effective control over white blood cells (macrophages) that promote inflammation. This medicine was also found to be capable of controlling the inflammatory signaling pathways.
This research clearly proves that Divya Amavatari Ras is effective in the treatment of arthritis. It not only reduces inflammation and pain, but is also helpful in preventing liver damage. This scientific confirmation of Ayurvedic medicine is an important contribution to modern medical system, which will help in establishing the authenticity of Ayurveda at the global level. It also confirms the fact that safe and effective solutions are available in Ayurveda to avoid the side effects of allopathic medicines.
