We developed a model of rheumatoid arthritis in mice. One of the causes of rheumatoid arthritis is a type of collagen against which antibodies are made in our body. When the concentration of that antibody increases in our body, then rheumatoid arthritis starts to arise. We bought the antibodies from the market and started giving them to the mice. Then we induced rheumatoid arthritis in mice. In such experiments, animals get sick. First we put antibody collagen inside the mice and then tried to see if they are causing the same symptoms as in humans? Here there was a lot of swelling in the knees and heels of the mice. The swelling was similar to the swelling we see in humans. When we were convinced that the animals were sick, we started measuring whether their disease parameters were measurable. Here two parameters are very important – one of which is pain. Those who have swelling in their knees, have arthritis, they have a lot of pain. Then we measured the mice's pain and measured a pain that is usually more pain than less symptoms. For example, if someone is pricked with a pin, there will be little pain, but those who have arthritis will feel more pain than the same pin. We measured them all. Then we observed the pain of the rats, how long they took to remove their leg. Hang a little weight on their feet and try to see how much weight they can bear. Based on that, it was decided that the symptoms of pain had increased due to arthritis. Then we administered Ashwashila to these rats along with the allopathic well-known and clinically proven medication methotrexate. Then we found that we got the same results from Ashwashila as methotrexate. This was a big deal for our team.

We found that Ashvashila had started that registration too. We found its response exactly equal to methotrexate which was without side effects. There is a big thing here, it also needs to be understood because some people say that it contains Shilajit, so does it have any side effects? Because it is in a bhasma or mineral form. Then we checked here, the major markers of liver are S.G.P.T., S.G.O.T. Which are also called ATIT and ALT. In the rats to which we had given the medicine, it was observed that their levels had not increased. Here we found that no finding of any kind was found, but its result was found to be better than methotrexate. Since we had done this test only on rats till now, we also observed it in human body and found whether this happens inside human cells or not. We tried to understand that too through research. Human cells, which are immune cells, are not having any side effects on them. After studying it, it was found that no side effects were found, the rest of the cytokines which cause inflammation are rheumatoid. Arthritis is also an inflammation disease, the label of those cytokines was also reduced by Ashvashila in a dose dependent manner and that too along with absolutely safe limit, we got this phenotype.
