Power of Ayurved

Pujya Acharyashri said that the unani treatment system and modern medicine system were given priority during the Muslim regime and the British rule respectively. During which no attention was paid to ayurved. Despite being the identity of India, ayurved has always been used as an alternative treatment system. Considering this statement as the basis, our ancestors conducted various types of research for getting better health. Yog and ayurved are the prominent constituents.

From the British era to present time, ayurved treatment has been struggling hard for its authenticity. Then, it was fighting with British Rule and today it’s struggling with their followers who have become contractors of the treatment system. Ayurved treatment is manufacturing certified medicines by following parameters of world level through modern research and laboratory. They are doing nothing but rejecting these medicines by terming them as unscientific. Shradheya Swami Jee says that ayurvedic medicines are authentic but at the same time mafia raj of drugs terms them as unscientific and extols allopathic medicines. Ayurvedic medicines are creating hurdles for them. Today, every learned person knows that the use of allopathic medicines will make side effects in the body. But the contractors of these allopathic medicines never claim to eradicate it. The patients get faced with adverse effects due to consumption of allopathic medicines and suffer from other diseases.

Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj says that ayurved system is the study of our rishi. This study or ayurvedic system works and claims to eradicate diseases. Apart from it, you will get rid of diseases through consumption of ayurvedic medicines. You will never fall prey to side effects due to consumption of these medicines.  

 Ayurved: A total vital treatment

Ayurved is the subject through which we can remain alive for a long time. It’s one of the ancient studies of the country. It has originated and spread on the land of India. The meaning of ayurved hints at the study related to age (aayu+ved).

Ayurved is the study based on natural assets. It’s related fully to use of herbs and other natural assets. Credit goes to the Indians for spreading knowledge of ayurved to the country and the abroad.

It’s said that Charak and Sushrut had started ayurved by treating the people through traditional herbs and their study. But with the passage of time, other scholars and Mahatma Buddha himself discussed their contribution in the field of ayurved.

The scholars are of the view that the root of ayurved is way back from 8000 to lakhs of years ago. Ashvini Kumar is considered as the Aadi Acharya of this scripture. Ashvini Kumar had learnt this study from Indra who had taught this study to Dhanvantari. Kashi Emperor Divodas is considered as the embodiment of Dhanvantari. There are eight branches of ayurved-

•     Internal treatment

•     Surgery

•     Treatment related to eye, nose, ear

•     Treatment related to outer air  

•     Toxic study

•     Science for getting youthful

•     Improving sexual desire of male

•     Power treatment

Surgery is considered a comparatively new concept in medical science. Very few people know that the first evidence of practice of surgery was found in 800 BC. Because Shastrakarm is one of the eight branches of ancient ayurved of India.

Sushrut Sanhita

Kashi-based Maharshi Sushrut is probably the first Indian who had conducted surgery. He wrote Sushrut Sanhita which is the first scripture which gives information about surgery or shastrakarm.   
Surgery conducted for the treatment of cataract in the eyes is considered as the concept of new era. But Sushrut was an expert in surgery and plastic surgery apart from cataract surgery since 800 BC.

Ayurved is a knowledge related to life protection. It’s eternal and traditional. Scholars have penned down this traditional knowledge from time to time.

Ayurved continued to struggle in the British era.

New revolution continues to appear in allopathy. There are various types of miracles upon which nobody keeps faith without witnessing through his/her eyes. But you won’t believe that miracles in the medical field is not the matter of today. It has been a part of India.

Ancient ved Atharvaved mentions treatment and medicine. In Atharvaved, the patients are treated through herbs which have been included in ayurved. Moreover, the credit which is being given to the foreigners has been scripted on the sheer land of India. Today, we would like to make you aware of miracles related to the medical field where Indians played an important role in invention. Ayurved was invented in India in ancient times. Unfortunately, the study which is called the study of rishi and saint is yet to get medical recognition.

Ayurved

The British scholars were aware of the authenticity and faithfulness of ayurved treatment system, but at the same time, they knew that had they accepted it, they would have failed to get recognition for allopathic treatment system in huge countries like India. Apart from it, they would be unable to loot money through allopathic medicines. Therefore, during the British Rule, ayurvedic treatment system was termed as unscientific, mysterious and religious belief.

In contrast, the British provided shelter to allopathy, resulting in the demolition of the ayurvedic treatment system under a conspiracy. Many great ayurvedic scriptures, ved, processes, etc got suppressed. It was only ayurved which remained alive in the rural areas. It was away from the reach of modern civilization. It was 1835 when in Calcutta Medical College, all the educational works of ayurved were suspended. It was the era when conspiracy was being hatched to eradicate ayurved. In that period, many scholars were trying hard to benefit ayurved indirectly by reestablishing vedic scriptures. They played a tremendous role in bringing back lost glory of ayurved.

When India’s struggle against British colonialismwas turning into renaissance, then a war was being waged in the medical field. You can term it as ayurvedic nationalism. Ayurved was getting overhauled by using western medical apparatus. According to scholar David Arnold who was working on this subject, the English translation of basic Sanskrit scriptures of ayurved provided this movement scripture validity and made it available to the society. Following one of the influential institutions, ayurved deepened its roots through setting up of hospitals.

In the latter half of 19th century and first half of 20thcentury, we witnessed a long series of booklets, magazines, reference scriptures and conferences related to ayurvedic treatment system. The reason behind it was to reestablish and revive ayurved as indigenous treatment system against rising impact of western treatment system (allopathy). New rising reformist and nationalist elite class was in view that if they want to rule the government in the near future, they will have to make indigenization of household and daily used items. Treatment nationalism was also an important part of this ideology of cultural nationalism. It was favourable towards indigenous treatment system in India. Under this concept of treatment nationalism, ayurved treatment system appeared as one of the prominent claimants of pure indigenous treatment system.

It was Kaviraj Chandra Kishor Sen who opened the first ayurvedic hospital in 1878 in Kolkata. After 20 years, Telugu Doctor Pandit D. Gopala Charalu had set up the first hospital in Madras. Ayurvedic treatment continues to become popular through the use of printing techniques. It was a nationwide Indian incident. In North India, Yashoda Devi played an important role in this regard. She set up a women's hospital in Prayag. She has written about 108 books. In 1907, All India Ayurvedic Congress was set up.

Post-independence, status of ayurvedic treatment system

Before independence, no attention was being paid on the ayurved but post-independence too, similar treatment was being meted out to this. Post-independence, the scholars tried to associate ayurved with modern treatment system. Reason behind it was that an integrated treatment system will be more effective than ayurved. Post-independence, Kolkata, Varanasi, Haridwar, Indore, Pune and Mumbai emerged as the ayurvedic hub. In the 60’s, systematic medical colleges and universities were set up in Gujarat and Kerala. But at the same time, ayurvedic treatment system remained undeveloped.

In the 20th century and in the beginning of 21stcentury, the people started to pay attention to ayurved. Kerala based aaya hospital became famous.

Shradheya Swami Jee says that he had borrowed money to set up Patanjali in 1995. He needed Rs 13, 000 to get registered Patanjali as a company. Then, he borrowed money from his friends to pay the registration fee. Today, everybody is getting enlightened by seeing aura on the face of Swami Jee. But at the same time, there is enormous struggle behind this achievement. Pujya Acharyashri knows this success story very well. In the beginning period of struggle, Swami Jee  organized around 50 yog camps every year in Rajasthan and Haryana and took pledge to give a new identity to yog and ayurved through hard work.

Later, he started to organize camps in Gujarat, Delhi and Mumbai. One day in a yog camp, he got a donation worth Rs 50, 000. It was a turning point for Shradheya Swami Jee and Pujya Acharyashri. You can say that ayurved was given new recognition on that day. Pujya Swami Jee Maharaj aimed at making herbs of ayurved popular among the common people. They invested Rs 50, 000 received in donation in the trade of ayurvedic herbs and started a new innings in ayurvedic field.  

It was the golden period when Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj had started his great effort by taking pledge of new revolution in the ayurvedic field. In 2006, he set up Patanjali Ayurved and gave a new lease of life to the ayurvedic treatment system.

Patanjali ayurved system is not a word. It’s strong commitment of Shradheya Swami Ramdev Jee Maharaj and Acharya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj towards ayurved, selfless service and aims. Today, lakhs of people look forward to Shradheya Swami Jee who showers blessings on them. The people get rid of diseases by adopting yog and ayurved. Shradheya Swami Jee made available yog to every household in 21st century. Apart from it, the people got rid of disease through practising yog while staying at their houses. On the one hand, Shradheya Swami Ramdev Jee Maharaj was making yog popular in the world, on the other Pujya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj was treating the incurable diseases through herbs. It was a time when the people lost faith in allopathy. They were returning to yog and ayurved. It was time when ayurvedic treatment system got revived in India. The credit goes to Shradheya Pujya Swami Jee Maharaj and Shradheya Acharya Jee Maharaj. They played an important role in the field of ayurved through their hard work.

When Pujya Acharya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj conducted a deep study of medicinal plants on the mountains of the Himalaya, he found that there are around 3.60 lakh plants in the entire world. But nobody dared to tell the number of medicinal plants. But Acharyashri studied these medicinal plants and prepared a checklist which mentions that there are around 62, 000 medicinal plants in the world. These plants can be used to treat incurable diseases. Acharyashri started this research work on the plants through Patanjali Research Institute.

Role of Shradheya Swami Jee and Pujya Acharya Jee in the direction of ayurved

This was a time when Pujya Acharya Jee clad in thin white sheet left for the Himalaya in the search of medicinal plants in the shivering cold. He aimed at the upliftment of ayurved. He used to study on rare herbs to raise the quality of ayurved treatment by staying for months there at the Himalaya. He also used to collect them and prepare medicines through these medicinal plants.

You know that the Himalaya is the most sacred and revered mountain of India. The Himalaya is also known as the king of mountains. It’s believed that according to the Ramayana, Hanuman Jee had found sanjivini herb at the Himalaya to save the life of Lakshaman. Today, all the ayurved scholars recognize this mountain as the huge reservoir of rare herbs which mentions about greatness, authenticity and belief of ayurvedic treatment system.

Pujay Acharyashri studied hundreds of medicinal plants found on this mountain and prepared many divine medicines. Despite having limited resources, Pujya Acharyashri started to check up patients in 1995 when the entire country had already fallen prey to allopathy. The people had no alternative to allopathy. In that odd situation, Pujya Acharyashri started to treat patients through ayurvedic treatment system. He used to advise the patients to consume medicines prepared through herbs available on the Himalaya. Consequently, hundreds of patients used to wait for medicines at Divya Yog Mandir. They had belief that they would get rid of diseases by consuming medicines provided by Pujya Acharyashri.

Given long queue of patients and importance of ayurved, Pujya Acharyashri and Param Pujya Swami Jee Maharaj had set up Patanjali in 2006. Due to the long queues of patients outside Divya Yog Mandir, they failed to avail  various types of facilities. Given that, Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj along with Param Pujya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj set up Patanjali Yogpeeth in 2006.

Patients from the entire country used to visit Patanjali Ayurved Hospital where thousands of volunteers are engaged in treating lakhs of patients through ayurved.

Today, allopathy is diversifying its ambit. Similarly, Patanjali Ayurved is also penetrating every household. Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj said that the people will suffer from various types of diseases due to wrong food habits and lifestyle. Swami Jee Maharaj revived various types of ayurvedic treatment system to get rid of such diseases. It includes naturopathy, panchkarm, shatkarm, water treatment, wet soil treatment, sun treatment, sun bath, shirodhara system, udvartan, etc. The patients are treated through such an ancient treatment system under the sheer guidance of Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj and Shradheya Acharyashri at Patanjali Yogpeeth.  

Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj and Shradheya Acharyashri set up Patanjali Ayurvedic Research Institute to uplift ayurved through their hard work. He took such strong decision to break monopoly of mafia of allopathic medicines. Swami Jee set up Patanjali Research Institute worth Rs 200 crore as the ayurvedic medicines were being termed as substandard on many occasions. Ultra-modern machines were installed to conduct study on rare herbs. The medicines are manufactured with total authenticity after conduction of hundreds of tests in the labs. Today, medicines are prepared as guidelines, protocols and parameters set up by modern medicine science.

Shradheya Swami Jee prepared ayurvedic medicines through natural herbs to treat fatal diseases like cancer by setting up Patanjali Research Institute so that noose of the medical mafia can be tightened. Allopathic medicines never cure such diseases. Ayurvedic treatment system is cheap in comparison to other system. Apart from it, this treatment system proves to be a boon for the patients.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Jee inaugurated Patanjali Research Institute on May 3, 2017. Shri Modi Jee himself had expressed his desire before Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj that he may do world level work in the direction of ayurved. Under which, clinical trial and modern packaging of ayurvedic medicines can be done, the respected Prime Minister said. It will pave the way for wide acceptability of India’s traditional treatment system. After the inauguration of Patanjali Research Institute, in his address, Shri Modi Jee has said that ayurvedic system is the gift of our rishi tradition. Our ancient rishis have collected manuscripts in the Sanskrit language. Today, the entire world has accepted this system. Shri Narendra Modi Jee said that setting up high technology research institute equipped with ultra-modern labs for clinical trial and packaging of ayurvedic medicines is an important step towards this direction.

Shri Modi Jee regrets that no attention was paid to our traditional treatment system and welfare subject pre-and post-independence. Due to which, our ancient system has been falling prey to negligence. Shri Modi Jee said that pre-independence our traditional medicines and health system have been concealed deliberately. Because we were slaves. But unfortunately, in the post-independence era too, our governments tried to forget our traditional system instead of promoting it. On the occasion, respected Prime Minister showered praise on Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj and Pujya Acharya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj for their contribution to making yog and ayurved popular in every household. Patanjali is working for reviving the ayurved system in the country. The nation salutes the great institution.

Patanjali Ayurvedic Science Research Institute aims at starting the movement of preparing new ayurvedic medicines through ayurvedic researches so that it can get international recognition with scientific benchmark and authenticity. Therefore, ayurvedic treatment system will develop a new type of treatment in the world.

Ayurvedic system proves to be life provider in corona period

The entire country accepted that the corona virus originated from Wuhan of China and wreaked havoc in the whole world. America, France, Britain, western countries, etc witnessed massive casualties due to this virus. The people are yet to recover from it.

Swami Jee made aware the countrymen that they can improve their immunity through practising yog and pranayam in the country like India where everybody enjoys no health facility. The people who have strong immunity can get rid of corona disease.

Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj made TV and internet as his medium to spread his message to the common people in the corona period. He advised the people to do yog and paranayam and consume giloya, tulsi kadha. The corona wreaked less havoc in India in comparison to western counties. Because, everybody used to consume ayurvedic medicines. They have been using them since time immemorial. But at the same time, nobody paid attention to it so far. Pujya Acharyashri has always said that the power of ayurved was never low; it was our thought which was weaker. It has been proved during the corona period.

Pujya Acharyashri says that when the foreigners saw power and importance of herbal medicines and natural items then people in India returned to ayurved. The power of ayurved was never low. It was our thought which was weaker. Today in the corona crisis, India and the world have no option but to return to ayurved. It’s a matter of pride for India. At the same time, it's a matter of joy for the entire Patanjali family.

Shradheya Swami Jee Maharaj said that in the corona era, when a pall of gloom enveloped everywhere, then first of all, Patanjali fulfilled the challenging job of manufacturing medicines to check coronavirus. Hundreds of scientists of Patanjali Research Institute made their tremendous effort to do clinical case study and conduct controlled clinical trial by following all the protocols of medicine research and searched highly successful medicine ‘coronil and ‘shwasari vati’ to get rid of this disease. He said that when the world is searching for corona medicines which are present abundantly in our herbs. It’s knowledge which makes a difference. Swami Jee said that these medicines are effective in checking corona. He said that joint experiments of divya swasari vati, Patanjali giloya ghanvati, Patanjali tulsi ghanvati and Patanjali ashwagandha capsule and divya anu oil have given positive results. ‘Coronil’ and ‘swasari vati’ have been manufactured through the mixture of these valuable medicines. Swami Jee said that we have conducted randomized placebo controlled clinical trial on 100 corona infected people, out of which 69 percent patients were tested negative in three days, while 100 percent patients were tested negative only in seven days. More importantly, no patient died of it. He said that it’s the first successful clinical trial of ayurvedic medicines in the world for management of corona. 100 percent recovery and zero percent death rate prove that corona can be checked only through ayurvedic medicines. He appealed to the countrymen not to get feared with corona and face it boldly while taking some precautions. Coronil, swasari vati and anu oil will be made available at every district, subdivision and block in the country.

On the occasion, the best ayurved expert of this century, Shradheya Acharya Balkrishna Jee Maharaj said that Patanjali is creating new history due to faith of entire countrymen and blessings of Pujya Swami Jee Maharaj. Today is the historic day when we have succeeded in making ancient knowledge of rishi science oriented. Because, medicines are not evaluated properly until they get universal recognition. Acharyashri said that the medicines are the mixture of powerful compound vethenon present in ashwagandha, tinocordiside present in giloya, scutellarin present in tulsi, pistacia integerrima, cressa cretica, anacyclus pyrenthrum of swasari vati and hundreds of phytochemicals or phyto metabolites, etc. It plays an important role in symptomatic and systemic treatment of corona and boosting immunity of the body. Highlighting future plans, he said that the process of publication of research papers in international journals with reference to scientific research of these medicines are in the pipeline.

Acharya Jee said that clinical study of these medicines was conducted in various cities including Delhi, Ahmedabad, Meerut and randomized placebo controlled clinical trial (RCT) was done under the leadership of National Institute of Medical Science & Research, NIMS University, Rajasthan, Jaipur. For this, approval was taken from the Institutional Ethics Committee. All the criteria of registration from Clinical Trial Registry of India and Clinical Control Trial were fulfilled.
Today, ‘corona kit’ prepared through a fully ayurvedic system is playing an important role in this pandemic. The people can use this to improve their immunity. It makes no side effects in the body. In fact, allopathic doctors also use corona kits to get rid of this disease. But at the same time, they don’t want to accept the ayurvedic system.
