Tradition of knowledge in Indian system of education

The purpose of Indian system of education was not confined to securing high percentage of marks but its fundamental purpose was to make a student well qualified so that his moral character real physical and mental development could be insured and he could give his services to the country and society as a responsible citizen.
Education plays a very significant role in the development and progress of any country and Society and as far as India is concerned this land has been world famous for education since ancient time where students not from nearby areas but from across the world came here to get education. Indian language its culture its art and Civilization way of living clothing and progress have always fascinated the whole world's and they had so much of magnificence and comprehensiveness that despite many efforts to destroy all these but Indian knowledge and education always triumphs and could not be destroyed by anyone. During Mughal rule and British rule there appeared so many challenges and our tradition of education and knowledge was worst hit but still they could not be destroyed but it is unfortunate that after independence during last seven decades we have ourselves created many obstacles in the path of our progress. These challenges and obstacles gradually badly affected our teachers students and Educational Institutes and we joined rat race and finally we started trailing in the pace of development and perhaps its main reason was that we forgot the difference between a teacher and student and also forgot the difference between knowledge and education. 
There appeared such a situation in which our Educational Institutes turned out to become a kind of industry where main Emphasis was to earn money rather than educating the students and earning of these institutes definitely increased but their quality shrank significantly. The job of both those who learn and those who teach became a business s.and the whole group of Educational Institutes and teachers and students started to see the field of education as a business activity to earn money and every one of them was concerned for just two things one has been Examination and second one is educational degree and in the course of time many students got educational degrees and impressive percentage of marks but could not acquire proper knowledge.

It is not that any guardian had allowed any kind of flaw in providing education to his children and they provided as better education to their children as the kind of resources they had with them which is clear from the fact that all the presidents tried to to send their children to best schools and also made sure that their children could get best technical education. However even after all this neither the quality of education could be improved 9 could bring changes in in the level of students and it is also not that our students are are lesser capable of getting education because had it been a reality then most off of the multinational companies would not have appointed Indian CEO and top executives. Recently an organisation of Indians based in America presented a very interesting data according to which at present in 11 different countries of the world which includes the United States of America Canada and Singapore there have been many e multinational company is of which CEO and top executives are Indian and their number is 58 and this business leaders are bosses of 36 lakh employees and they earn 7498 billion rupees which is equivalent to one trillion dollar as their revenue. These bosses of Indian Origin are not leading their setups in in technical field but also in the field of Banking electronics consumer goods Consulting firms etc. Despite all this if any e Educational Institute of India does not get a leading position in international ranking then we must try to trace the shortcomings and flaws in our system of education. At present there are so many e institutes providing primary education to higher education which includes primary schools English medium schools Gurukul missionary school and colleges Madrasa and prestigious institutes like IIT IIM medical colleges and many other universities of which most of the Educational Institutes receive admission application forms from lakhs of students every year however very few of these students are fortunate enough to get higher education from these institutes but it is also fact that at least every student can get educational degree from any institute. Just think if the purpose of education is confined to you only e getting an educational degree and imparting educational degrees then this will definitely destroy the main purpose of education and only this has happened in this period while we created so many engineers but could not create any producer we created many doctors but no scientists many students got educational degrees and became teachers but could not become a Guru. 
In fact in this year's education has remained confined around educational degrees and certificates and condition was m a lot and students debited from the main purpose of education and real knowledge remained far away from them and students could not understand what is real knowledge and what is the knowledge they are getting in a particular circular activities because this can get degrees but no knowledge therefore we can say that ancient system of education which was based on Knowledge in ancient time in India was a good system which is the reason why India's ancient system of education is still considered as the best system of education in the world. 
Since ancient time the main purpose of education in India was not just getting an educational degree and certificate but the main purpose was to make a student it is well educated in true sense so that his moral character and physical and mental overall development could be ensured and he could be graduated as a responsible citizen of the country and Society and could contribute in a great way.  in ancient time Educational Institutes did not have large buildings and quality education which was based on true knowledge was being imported big and small gurukuls and just imagine how magnificent amazing and divine system it must have been and you must have such  gurukuls in TV serials like Ramayan and Mahabharat and even if you did not see them then you are advised to pay a visit to Patanjali Yogpeeth and here you can clearly see the system of Gurukul and you will definitely feel proud. 
In ancient time the main purpose of Gurukul and Ashram was not confined to handing over educational degrees and educational certificates but the main purpose was imparting real education therefore people from across the world were fascinated from this system and these Gurukul Sawar like modern days boarding schools and Indus Gurukul students from affluent and underprivileged or unprivileged families would get education without discrimination and princess children of of Kings and affluent families would also study there therefore food clothing and other necessary steps would be available very easily. The way at present Zen a student is admission in a primary school then he gets school bag copies books pencil and other stationeries and these stuffs become a symbol for students similarly when the students get admission at a Gurukul in ancient time he had to undergo upnayan Sanskar and he used to put on janeu and that janeu was his identity it was made of three threads which was symbol of the three debts he had on his Shoulders. Like his death towards parents, his debt towards Guru and his debt towards sages. But in modern system of education has forgotten the three kinds of debts and put a middle class family Virtually thrown them in a Fourth Kind of debt which is Financial debt and the family is crushed under this death and in this situation the student does not feel good to the guidance and speeches of his parents teachers and the students also mainly focus on getting in education in a manner to earn a lot of money that is Financial debt in life becomes something of Paramount importance. 
Due to this commercialization of Indian education system the purpose and meaning of education has got completely changed in India and on one hand where the purpose of education has to be e join and Institute to get education and knowledge and leave to serve the society but today the purpose of education has become commercial and in this situation the outlook of both students and teachers has become very confined and narrow. Just see how a child sitting under a tree discovered the theory of gravity after seeing a fruit falling from the tree on the other hand another boy when saw the steam coming out of a tea pot and when he puts lid on the pot then he sees that due to thrust of the steam the lead goes upwards and downwards which becomes a basis for him to invent steam engine and another man when enters a bathtub and sees how some water comes out of the tab which makes him think of the phenomenon and he searches the theory of buoyancy.  All these inventions would not have been possible with reverence narrow thinking high percentage of marks in the examination and higher degree and today the idea of social networking platforms like Facebook WhatsApp and Twitter are born out of such open minds. 
Due to our educational policies our education institutes have lost their credibility in the eyes of the world community and recently QS Asia ranking 2020 decreased the ranking of prominent Educational Institutes of India including IIT, BHU, IISC Bengaluru, Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, besides others. There are a total of 96 Indian Educational Institutes which got a place in this ranking and in the top 100 institutes of the world only eight Indian Institutes got a place of which the topmost has been IIT Mumbai which lost one place down and after this came IIT Delhi then IIT Madras then IISC Bengaluru and IIT Kharagpur which rank 40 3rd 4853 and 53rd respectively. Actually neither of these institutes 9 their students are responsible for low ranking of of Indian Educational Institutes but it is our Educational policy which is to be blamed in which our education has remained confined between two poles one is to get a degree and second one is to get a job while this situation or period because our mail purpose of education has become narrow and it has only being to get an educational degree and certificate and finally to get a job and this is the reason why our education system has been lagging in the world for seven decades since independence. Ho Gaya Boss present region has brought up a new education policy which is full of new hope but it is not likely that state governments will adopt it fully however at present Central government has set a target of 2030 for implementation of this new education policy and under this system 10 + 2 to system has been and it and now 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 system is to be introduced. Under this system from primary to class 2 there will be 1st bracket again from class 3 to 5 will be second bracket from class 6 to class 8 will be the third bracket and from class ninth to class 12 will be the last bracket of school education system. In this new system of education there is a provision of three language formula of which from primary upto class 5 education will be imported in local language and wherever it will be possible the same language will be adopted upto class 8 and besides Sanskrit language Tamil Telugu and Kannada like Indian languages will also be taught. 
The Prime Minister also said that new education policy is not just meant for changing the way of teaching and learning but this policy is meant for giving a new direction to Indian society and India's economic life and making the resolve of self dependent India stronger. In 19th century England might have seen prosperity while in the 21st century the United States of America saw prosperity but if every citizen of India start pulling in One Direction then no doubt India will write a new history in the 21st century because only Indian civilization education and culture are capable of protecting the world community from present challenges.  Patanjali Yogpeeth in the guidance of most respected Swami Ji and Aacharya ji understood the challenges of 21st century much earlier and this is the reason why these divine powers revived yoga, Ayurved , Swadeshi, Naturopathy and Indigenous education.
